Chocolate and coconut are one of the best summer flavor combinations around. The best part about it is that it goes great with coffee too. Why not spice up your morning coffee, whether hot or cold, with a chocolate coconut twist?

If that sounds tantalizing to you, here’s how you can make your delicious treat at home…

Macaroon Coffee Syrup

½ cup water

½ cup white sugar

½ tsp. coconut extract

½ tsp. chocolate extract

 

Add water and sugar to a small saucepan on medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved and the mixture starts to come to a boil. Reduce to simmer for 5-7 minutes stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add both extracts and mix well. Let the mixture cool then store in an air tight container in the refrigerator. When ready to serve add desired amount of syrup to hot or cold coffee for a tasty chocolate coconut twist. Enjoy!

 

Recommended: For an extra boost of delicious macaroon flavor add a dollop of whipped cream, a sprinkle of sweetened coconut shavings, and a drizzle of thick chocolate syrup to your coffee.
